The essence of schooling in DAV is made wholesome with a plethora of events, so meticulously organized to tap the inner talents of the students. By giving them equal opportunities to participate in the various activities spread over the academic year, shape their life by making them learn the importance or significance of the days, celebrations and of course with loads of joy.
Pongal Celebration & Joy of Giving
The primary students celebrated Pongal with great enthusiasm and creativity by putting up a vibrant and colourful performance celebrating the rich harvest traditions of India. Through a captivating dance drama, the students showcased the harmony between nature, animals, and humans. The students portrayed various aspects of the Pongal celebration, from the cleaning and burning of old items during Bhogi to offering sweet pongal to the Sun God. They also honoured cattle named Nandini during Mattu Pongal, showcasing the importance in agriculture. From the harvest festivals of Pongal, Lohri, and Bihu, the students brought to life the significance of these festivals. Their energetic performances, traditional dances, and folk songs reflected the diverse cultures and the deep connection with nature. The event highlighted the importance of gratitude and unity in celebrating the cycle of life.
Teacher’s Day Celebration
Teacher’s Day was celebrated virtually on 5th September, 2024. The students of classes X, XI and XII presented a surprise programme so well organized and presented by the Prefect Council under the able guidance of our Principal. Apart from each class coming up with innovative way to greet the teachers, the best of it was presented in the evening along with a well coordinated cultural programme.
Gandhi Jayanthi
Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated on 2nd October, by reinforcing the values of non-violence and compassion.
Birthday of Lal Bahadur Shastri
A great statesman, whose birthday also falls on 2nd October, was celebrated. Inspiring anecdotes from his life were shared with the students to groom them to be upright citizens.
Bharathiar Day Celebration
The great Tamil poet, Subramania Bharathi’s birthday was celebrated on 12th December 2024. Students of class VIII prepared portrait of Barathiyar using charts.
